Best Photo spots in Paris for cinematic photography
Although Paris is one of the most photographed cities in the world, that shouldn't stop you from putting your mark on it. Beyond the Eiffel and the Louvre lie endless spots and frames to create amazing shots. Even when you photograph these iconic spots, you can make it your own. Different editing styles, the way you compose the shot, and what you include will all contribute to forming your own unique photograph. Let's get into the locations that I loved.
Montmartre Neighborhood
Montmartre has to be on your list. Although popular to some, others like me didn't know what Montmartre was until my third time coming to the city. I rank this as my number one spot because of the birds-eye view of Paris. The sunrise and sunsets are breathtaking up here, and you're surrounded by so much history. You have plenty of photography opportunities up here wether you are an architecture photographer taking in all the historic buildings or a landscape photographer capturing the skyline.

Gear to bring?
My camera bag was light. I chose to freehand without a tripod this time but definitely don’t hesitate to bring one.

Random Side Streets
This might sound self-explanatory, but when you're lugging around gear and waiting for the next location, you might not have your camera out at the right time. Don't overlook the small things because they tell such a significant story of the city. I shot this in harsh light, early afternoon, kids playing soccer. Make sure to slow down and look around you; it gets so hectic in Paris.
Metro Line 6
If you're looking for a creative way to capture the Eiffel Tower, you can try the above-ground metro Line 6. I really enjoyed framing the eifell while getting a local reading a book. You have more views along the way, and if you didn't get the shot its an easy on and off again to go back and forth to capture it. I also enjoyed capturing the building in movement along the way. You might get some stares from the locals, but it's alright.
Jardin des Tuileries
The garden is filled with people on a sunny day. You will find this park between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Classic green chairs, fountains, and carrasouls are found throughout the park. These were shot midday, but I would love to go back for a sunrise/ sunset shoot.

Galeries Lafayette Rooftop
Galleries Lafayette offers a completely free rooftop. You can access this by going through the mall as usual and going to the top floor. The inside of the galleries is stunning as well, allowing for great photos. I persoanlly didnt take any photos because it was so packed and a bit overwhelming. But the rooftop is an amazing perk to see the city.
Place Vendôme
Place Vendôme is a perfectly symmetrical square lined with luxury storefronts and hotels like the Ritz Carlton. It also makes a great photoshoot, in my case, it was at night after a show. I personally loved coming at night due to the streets being almost empty. The square is well-lit and very beautiful.
Seine River
The Seine runs past the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Eiffel Tower. The Stalls line the river, and it should definitely be on your list. These were taken midday, but sunset and sunrise would be beautiful. Great bridges for photos: Pont Alexandre III, Pont des Arts, Pont Neuf.
Reflections
Take advantage of all of the reflections. There are tons, from buses, puddles, and windows. I absolutely loved finding puddles, everyone asked me what I was doing, but its defitnantly worth the shot. You can achieve such dynamic shots, making something boring interesting.
Palais Garnier
Although the palias cost $25 a person for self guided tour, it is worth it. Dating back to the 1800 the architecture and ambienace is un explainable. If you can catch a show here, you can walk through, but without a show, you have to pay the entrance fee. You have to add this destination to your list.
These were my favorite places to shoot in Paris. I hope you find your own creative ways. Check out more of my work on my socials! Follow along for more photo journals and travel tips.
